Habib Bank AG Zurich experienced unauthorised external access to its corporate network. Our banking services remain unaffected, fully operational and available to all our customers.  To date, no persistent access has been identified.

Our team is working around the clock – supported by cybersecurity and forensic experts – to further assess and mitigate the impact of this incident. As part of our ongoing investigation, we are looking into the extent to which data has been exposed. In the meantime, all relevant regulatory authorities have been duly notified.

Protecting our customers’ information remains a priority for the Bank and we have taken further measures to safeguard our network in this regard.

In line with our commitment, effective from 1st March 2023, we have introduced “Push Notifications” feature on our Mobile Application. Similar to receiving messages via SMS and emails, Push Notifications/alerts will be available on the devices registered with the HBZ Mobile Application. All you need to do is download the HBZ Mobile App from the iOS or Google Play stores, register an existing account and enable Push Notification Services.

This new service is a free of cost and useful tool that allows you to receive notifications even when you are not using the app. Moreover, you are always in control of enabling Push Notifications or customize the event types you want to receive notification for. Enabling Push Notification will not change your existing alert subscription(s) subscribed for SMS/email. It is not an alternative to your SMS/email subscription. It is an additional tool to keep you updated on your account activity.
